Susan Ashdown
Helen G. Canoyer Professor
Department of Fiber Science and Apparel Design

Susan Ashdown is a leading member of the Cornell Body Scan Research Group. She directs a research program in the areas of anthropometrics, the sizing and fit of apparel, fit preference, the perception of fit, and the development and use of new technologies in the apparel industry. The acquisition of a 3D body scanner, thanks to the generosity of alumna Rebecca Quinn Morgan, has increased the potential of this research program. Professor Ashdown teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in draping, product development, computer-aided design, apparel sizing and fit, the relationship between materials and design, and technology and design. Professor Ashdown earned a B.A. from Grinnell College, an M.A. from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.

Suzanne Loker
Professor Emeritus
